You need to try: lpq -s

They interpret the status request 'inverted'.

Welll... sort of.

See:

# Purpose: reverse LPQ status format when specified remotehost
#   default reverse_lpq_status=0  (STRING)

For example:
lp:....
  :reverse_lpq_status=sun.4.system

This should work.  I think.
