Good day. I'm trying to get banner pages out of LPRNG when using what appears to be PJL code instead of PCL code. I have numerous application which currently work that don't use the PPD file and use PCL code.. but now I have an app which uses a PPD file and PJL protocol. How can I get lprng to bring banner pages for both pcl and pjl protocols? Hope this made sense. I'm not that printer/lprng savy unfortunately.
My Ricoh Aficio 1060 printer is defined in lprng printcap as such: 18008_RICOH :af=acct :bp=/opt/lprng/libexec/filters/pclbanner :cm=Ricoh Aficio 1060 :filter=/opt/lprng/libexec/filters/lpf :lf=log :lp=18008_RICOH%9100 :mx=0 :sd=/var/spool/lpd/%P :sh@ This work perfectly with applications using PCL code and I do get a banner page as expected. My new application uses a PPD for printing which contains the 'Protocol' line defining PJL. I can print the documents, but no banner page. *PPD-Adobe: "4.3" *% *% Printer Description file *% for "RICOH Aficio 1060 PS" *% *% CreationDate: 2001/10/17 *% Modified: 2002/05/02 *% *% COPYRIGHT (C) 2001-2002 RICOH COMPANY, LTD. *% All rights reserved. *% *FileVersion: "1.0" *FormatVersion: "4.3" *LanguageEncoding: ISOLatin1 *LanguageVersion: English *ModelName: "RICOH Aficio 1060" *PCFileName: "RAF10603.PPD" *Manufacturer: "RICOH" *Product: "(RICOH Aficio 1060 PS3)" *PSVersion: "(3011.103) 2" *ShortNickName: "RICOH Aficio 1060 PS" *NickName: "RICOH Aficio 1060 PS" *%========== Basic Device Capabilities ========== *Protocols: PJL BCP *JCLBegin: "<1B>[EMAIL PROTECTED] JOB<0A>" *JCLToPSInterpreter: "@PJL ENTER LANGUAGE = POSTSCRIPT <0A>" *JCLEnd: "<1B>[EMAIL PROTECTED] EOJ<0A>" *LanguageLevel: "3" ---snipped----- Any and all help appreciated.
