You can fix the numbers on any system to match what you want. Thats what not defining numbers means. "I've got 8 legacy sun boxes so I'll use their system uid layout" > Note that neither NFS v1, nor V2 or v3 do contain any precautions to map user > ids. They don't disallow it either. See uuid in the unfsd package
