crypt passwords are not enabled yet. Everything works fine, but I just realized, that it's not possible to authenticate to ldap if the user has a password with a CRYPT hash. After changing the password by the root user, the password is stored with an SSHA hash and the user can authenticate. Did you configure slapd with the option --enable-crypt?
