Bug #458: Authentication fails with crypt passwords
http://tools.lsc-project.org/issues/458

Author: Dirk Kastens
Status: Closed
Priority: High
Assigned to: Clément OUDOT
Category: OpenLDAP RPM
Target version: openldap-rpm-2.4.31

Hi,
I installed the openldap-2.4.30 RPM for CentOS/RHEL 6 (64-Bit).
Everything works fine, but I just realized, that it's not possible to
authenticate to ldap if the user has a password with a CRYPT hash. After
changing the password by the root user, the password is stored with an SSHA
hash and the user can authenticate. Did you configure slapd with the option
--enable-crypt?
It is very important for us, because we have many old users with crypt hashed
passwords.
