This reminds me on a problem I had once.

Etherbootfloppy for card whatever the worked fine on one computer.
Same floppy on other computer with also a whatever NIC refused to work.

The working NIC had IRQ 10, the failing NIC had IRQ 9 configured.
Etherboot assumed/excepted only IRQ 10.


Check the IRQ on the 8139 with what Etherboot expects....
