Thanks for the quick reply.

Let me clarify that I am not using an EEPROM, just a floppy.

Your advice seems to have solved part of the problem. The system no longer 
continuously reboots. It now seems to hang up with a display like "searching 
for server (DHCP)" and then "sleep" every so often. I'm not quite sure if 
this is earlier or later than the previous problem. I am pretty certain that 
it used to get a dhcp address before it rebooted.

In any event, while all this is going on, my other workstation is running 
with no problems (other than the things I am still trying to resolve).

BTW, I have a router with a dhcp server built in. It looks like when my ltsp 
server (fixed ip address) is running, the other workstation gets its address 
from that server. The router shows that it has not given out any ip 
addresses. I have allowed for a range of 10 addresses to be given out and 
only 1 is in use.

Any ideas on what to do next?
