Appologies. As you asked, this error came from a box running RedHat 7.2 with the latest RedHat RPMs (in this case, the one that ships on the CD). Its version 1.11 (according to the internal strings) from RedHat's RPM tftp-0.17-14. There is nothing on their internet sites (ftp.redhat.com or updates.redhat.com) that I can find higher than this. I've checked it on a number of other machines (all red hat, various versions) and they can't do it either.
The Google search you recomend only seems to list DHCP software (not surprising really). I'd still love to know what version of in.tftpd can give more detailed logging with -v or -vv options. What I really meant to ask if there was A version that does support this flag, not a NEWER one.
