No, I use LTSP 3.0 and kdm and does autologin just fine.

kdebase 2.2.2-13 (debian unstable).

I have checked my options, and yours do seem similar.

If you change LogoArea from Logo to Clock does it make a difference?
(Is kdm reading this config file?)
