  What do you mean by "remote computer", is it the workstation booting from
the network?  This is exactly what LTSP does.

  By default, the workstation loads the kernel and the init program from the
server, and ther starts either a telnet session (runlevel 4) or an X session
(xdm login, runlevel 5).  You could run applications locally on the
workstations, but that's an option, by default the server runs the all.
