I am not an expert (yet), but this is what I did just now. I'm running RedHat
7.3 if it makes any difference.
Do this as root.
1. Create the ICEwm script file:
touch /etc/X11/gdm/Sessions/ICEwm
2. Make it executable to all, writeable only by root:
chmod 755 /etc/X11/gdm/Sessions/ICEwm
3. Open it with your favorite editor, and put the following lines in it:
#!/bin/bash
exec /usr/X11R6/bin/icewm
4. Save it, and you're done!
