I also installed from tgz (SuSE server) and adjusted where needed, as I
wanted to learn more about how LTSP is set up.  Sorry I can't give
specific help, as I don't know RH or your distro.  For SuSE, the main
issues were such things as dhcpd.conf, enabling tftp in /etc/inetd.conf,
checking /etc/hosts.allow, and configuring X.  It is porbably simpler to
start with a run level 3 in your lts.conf for your DC test cfg until the
DC is booting without problems.

The tgz's have an install script (install.sh) which gets you close.  In
may case I had to adjust the IP's which the scripts put in the various cfg
files so that it would conform to my existing IP scheme.
