Well, I modified rc.setupx file as needed.
New xf4vnc is out and it should be working better as no driver modification is not needed anymore. But you need ltsp4 or asking Jim to update ltsp_x_core package to xfree 4.3.

I've got it working. At least on some terminals.
You should have ltsp_x_core-3.0.4 installed (XFree 4.2.99) and I used vnc.so-4.2.0.1 + xf4vnc 4.2.0 drivers. There are some drivers still missing and some don't work as expected but you can also mix drivers between original XFree ones and xf4vnc. You just don't get vnc with unsupported (by xf4vnc) gfx cards. I just emailed couple days ago to xf4vnc author and got replay that in future versions of xf4vnc there will be no need to modify XFree gfx board drivers - all mambo-jambo will be in vnc.so loadable module.
Conclusion: - xf4vnc is best bet so far to get terminal user sessions shared through vnc but expect problems with some gfx cards currently.

How did you specify the necessary modules: the driver and the rfb
keyb/mouse? Did you use X4_MODULE_01 or did you just include a
custom-made XF86Config file in your lts.conf?
I tried to get it running with the mga.o driver, but it didn't really
work. As soon as I click a mouse button gnome/gdm dies and throws me
back to the login prompt.

any suggestions?

I've seen it mention here that others have got xf4vnc to work
but I've fallen short.
If anyones got it to work, what combination of versions
are you using? LTSP/xf4vnc versions?
I've been back and forth with the author and we've reached
a dead end in trying to get it to work with LTSP.
Now, it might just be the driver for my cards that's falling
short or unstable XFree86 4.2.9 that's why I'm wondering
if anyone's actually using it and what "ltsp_x_core" your using.
Author points towards x_core-3.0.4 and not xf4vnc drivers.
I'm under the impression you have to at least use the x_core-3.0.4
which includes XFree86 4.2.x
The problem I'm having is the Xserver keeps segfaulting on startup.
I'm left with waiting for LTSP 4.0 with hopefully XFree86 4.3? or
atleast 4.2 stable?
I'm trying to use the ati_drv.o/atimisc_drv.o
Anybody?
