Hey,

Iâm trying to set up a system for membership registration for our youth
organisation.

The main goal for the project is to boot right into a java GUI to avoid the trouble of
users messing around with windowmanagers or other tools.

So my questions are:

1. Is it possible to boot and start up a single JAVA application (no other windows)?

2. Lock a windowmanager up so only the JAVA client is accessible.

3. Use different video hardware on the different clients?

4. Use different pointing devices.

Think of it as a kiosk terminal. Something like http://www.wirespring.com/ but then
based on LTSP?

Boot -> Login screen -> Application -> Shutdown from within the application.

I appreciate every hint â

I already looked at some how-toâs and in the contrib. area of the LTSP site but I
found only information on running web browsers in a locked environment. None of it was
a perfect clean solution.
One thing I met in my search was http://www.wirespring.com/ This is an example of my
goal but we just canât afford it.

Thanks Gert
