yes. made by logitech.

have played with all ports i could think of. this setting was
recommended by david johnston in an earlier message about a week ago.
have also tried protocol to be 'Serial' or 'Auto' or 'Logitech'

have already tried out these two options with no luck, in permuatation
with the above protocol settings.

yes. the idea was to first get it to run till run-level 3, and then to
start toggling the comment sign and test each setting to see which one
when uncommented, works. alas! none works.

desperately trying to get it to work for quite some time....
