The serial.o module should be in:

   /opt/ltsp/i386/lib/modules/2.4.24-ltsp-1/kernel/drivers/char/serial.o


Do you even have the /opt/ltsp/i386/lib/modules/2.4.24-ltsp-1 directory?

No, the serial.o module needs to be the one that matches exactly with 
the kernel that you are running.
