Dear All,
As I have never used the Linux Terminal Server
before, I have a couple of questions before I decide
to try it out:
1. Can I use a vnc viewer program to connect to the LT
server to start a new X session, WITH the LOGIN
PROMPT? (This is kinda Important)
Yes, but VNC is more for remote sessions not local
2. Can I VNC connect to any of the Terminal Sessions?
Yes
3. The users that I may be deploying to would like to
have many of the Windows apps there when I am done.
Windows as in M$ ?
Has anyone ever had experience with this and if so,
what was done?
If M$ then setup a separate M$ server with W2K or Server 2003 and use
the rdesktop command from the linux terminals. Of course you'll have to
create user accounts on the M$ server with appropriate Server and CAL
licenses.
Thats it for now, I will ask more later. Thank you
very much for your time and consideration in this
matter.
Sincerely,
Christopher Koeber
Good luck
norbert
