Docs say to use esound or nasd.
I have alsa (kernel 2.6)

Now what?

Is there some esound - alsa compatiility out there that I should look into? (Debian)

After some clarification I decided it would be best to just try it.

I installed the .tgz file for sound and enabled sound in the lts.conf file. (SOUND = Y). I didn't restart anything other than the client (reboot)

NOTE: dnsdomainname does not return anything useful, at least when testing from my LTSP client.

I didn't get anywhere useful.

I have a mp3 file on my website that I was using as a test.
Firefox pulls up Alsaplayer as the application of choice. However it's still playing on the LTSP server speakers.

Because sound support on 4.1 is relatively new I'm not sure where to begin. Alsaplayer wasn't listed as working yet. But testing this with xmms resulted in the same thing.

Any suggestions on debugging?
