This of course is caused by the principle of using rdesktop: The browser application (Internet Exploder or whatever) physically runs on the windows terminal server, not the thin clients. As such, all tcp connections are started from the Windows machine. If you had a Linux server (perhaps you even do have one, for booting?), you could try running firefox as local application - I'm not sure wether this is easy to integrate with a windows environment though. For user authentication and so on, you probably need a running linux machine though.... Any case, "local apps" is what you need for having http connections being done by the terminals, not the servers.
