Soren, did you fix your problem? From what you're sayin the X from the console does not seem to be able to contact the XDM on your server. One way I usually debug such problems quickly is to launch X manually from a console.
In your lts.conf change your SCREEN_01 for: SCREEN_01 = shell Once the terminal booted, simply type: startx :0 -query 192.168.0.5 Some comments: You can actually set SCREEN_02 = shell and try it from there. In that case, you have to specify another "display" number (since SCREEN_01 uses :0 you would specify :1 as follow: startx :1 -query 192.168.0.5 ) Of course, I indicated 192.168.0.5 as the server running XDM since that is what you entered in your lts.conf file. Note that I successfully run an LTSP/Gentoo setup touhgh it's using kmd and not gdm (I remember seeing that there are some issues with gdm on one of the wikis) Eric On March 15, 2005 12:52 pm, Søren Haagerup wrote: > Hi all! > > I certainly hope someone here will be able to answer my question :-) . > > I have a problem with only getting a gray screen and a cursor, when > booting up my LTSP-client ..
