Not a solution, but more info. I added the -public fix as discussed on the wiki. This did not correct the issue for me. It is definitely a show-stopper issue at this point with using esd for sound on the thin clients in the school. Perhaps I have an error in the fix, will be at the school tonight to do further work. Any suggestions before then can be tried.
