HiHo!

got now a working devfs kernel that runs with the apple.tar.gz root-fs I
downloaded from chucks system!

The trick was to enable "experimental/ prompt for incomplete
drivers ..." and then to switch on devfs.

Kernel and config for download at
        http://www.hegner-web.de/pub/netstation/

Yes, an I now managed to bring up an X, login AND had remote sound!
Great!

However, there is still one problem I also had with the woody-root-fs
from aytolacoruna.es:

There is a blue bar in the lower part of the screen. When I upgraded the
woody to sarge, this was gone.

Ooops. I guess porting netstation patch to 2.6.x is beyond my abilities.

As the kernel issue is now more or less fine-tuning for 2.4.x (and
possibly porting to 2.6.x if someone volunteers :) ), I would say, that
ideally we should now build a new ltsp-ppc-4.x root-fs from scratch that
bases on recent components (e.g. xorg 7.x).

* Is there someone from the apple-fraction around, who has maybe done
this trick already?
* Is there some documentation around on "what's needed to build a ltsp
root-fs"?

My webspace is quite limited when it comes to traffic. What needs to be
done to put up things like the ppc-root-fs and the netstation1000 kernel
on the project's site?

Thanks

Stefan.
