I have a new Ubuntu 7.10 server edition installed from LiveCD. Post install I ran the LAMP installation followed by a reboot.
Once the machine came back up, I ran the LTSP Quick Install by: -- snip-- Configure your spare interface for the thin clients to have the IP 192.168.0.1, then follow the instructions below. sudo apt-get install ltsp-server-standalone openssh-server Now create your Thin Client environment on the server with. sudo ltsp-build-client --end snip-- When done, I again rebooted, then when the server comes up, I boot a client. The client (Etherboot btw) immediately boots, finds DHCP, loads an image, and loads the GUI with a login screen. (looks like it is working up to this point) When attempting to login, I get the following message: Xsession: unable to start X session --- no "/home/monitor1/.xsession" file, no "/home/Xession" file, no session managers, no window managers, and no terminal emulators found; aborting. If I click Okay, the GUI login window reappears. Can someone shed some light on this, I haven't been able to find anything on my own yet (Google)? TIA! -- a message from the abyss... ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Splunk Inc.
