Does it really lock up? There was a 2 min delay in the ldm source 
somewhere... though I am not sure of its relevance, because I have faced 
such "freeze-like-problem" with autologin or login with null password (via 
ssh-keys)
So the question is whether it really locks up or just waits 2 min...
(it is an awfully long time... :-)
