Using Centos 5 and LTSP 4.2 with Neoware 600-series terminals. After using the keyboard preferences tool to "swap ctrl and caps-lock keys", the terminal hangs up immediately after clicking "apply" with a black screen. The terminal has to be rebooted to get it back, and subsequently that user can't log into his account any more -- he just gets a black screen after entering his password and the terminal has to be rebooted again.
I set up a temporary user to try this as well, and had the same experience. It appears that something about the keyboard preferences tool and LTSP on a terminal don't get along. -- MELVILLE THEATRE ~ Melville Sask ~ http://www.melvilletheatre.com ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Check out the new SourceForge.net Marketplace.
