Hello Community openSUSE 11.1 is just around the corner with tons of improvements and new features[1]. One of the interesting feature that is relevant to LTSP is new NOMAD[2] technology, it would of course be supported out of box using rdesktop script from LTSP[3].
I am happy to announce the availability of test packages that will make a final release along with 11.1. This release contains all the LTSP improvements from the recent LTSP hackfest Highlights of this release: * Images created using openSUSE 11.1 RC1 * Using kiwi v3.01 SVN: Revision: 1796 * LTSP 5.1.35_081129 * LTSPFS 0.5.6_081129 * LDM 2.0.19_081129 * openchrome drivers are included, please test eepc as some of its drivers are removed. Here are the instructions to install the packages: Development on/for openSUSE 11.0 is discontinued, please use openSUSE 11.1 RC1 and above to test these packages, once they are stable prebuilt images for earlier openSUSE would be available. Make sure you have configured network as mentioned here [4] Run the following commands as root: #add repository zypper ar http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/server:/ltsp/openSUSE_Factory/ server:ltsp #Install packages zypper in kiwi-ltsp-prebuilt kiwi-ltsp-bootimages kiwi-desc-ltsp Continue rest of the setup as shown here [5] skip the installation part as we have already done that above.
