Did you replaced the string "00:18:2D:00:0B:AE" with your Thincan's mac 
adress? It is printed on the thincan backside.

You can verify the new params by logging _into_ the thinclient.
The easier is to enable the root account in the chroot and then ssh to the 
client IP. It is fully explained in the ltsp5 documentation pdf is here:

Your network installation might be an issue also. Check for errors on your 
switch console.
