Hi Rolf,

- I thought I had conveyed my experiences to the list already...but A
LOT of things happened.

- I received lots of very kind help from Cyberorg (J.), with the help
from him and others, I got it rolling.

- My experience is that kiwi/ltsp works very well. I only experienced
extraordinary problems with a particular range of hardware, namely some
specific HP/Compaq PCs.

- I got desperate and tried loading LI-F-E just like you. For the oddest
reason, this works like a charm. The clients (HP/Compaq) are booting
just fine. Not as fast as one would like, but the slower boot is fully
counter weighted by the rich desktop experience that is offered once booted.

I've got wobling windows and 3D effects right out of the box. Not that I
like it or anything...but the kids/students will go mad.

Also - and this is VERY important - I setup LIFE to run Firefox/flash as
a localapp. This works awesome! Given, of course, that the hardware
(clients) are reasonably powerfull. Say, 1Ghz, 512Mbyte RAM and so.

It's a MAJOR step forward and it means EVERYTHING for the schools to be
able to use this.

Not only does it work. It works amazingly good.

So...I'm going to setup LIFE/KIWI/LTSP - and I'm quite sure they're
going to like it.

It had a few quirks with the network setup, I still don't quite
understand what it is LIFE is doing with/to the network...

The whole thing seems to be somewhat virtualised (?), I really can't
follow what's going on. Perhaps someone on this list will explain?
