LTSP Server: Ubuntu 12.04 64bit

I have a quirk I can't pinpoint and not sure if it's due to LTSP or
not. When a thin client starts Xsession (after booting successfully),
the user selects "Gnome classic" from the preferences menu on the LDM
login screen. The user then logs on. The error "Xsession: unsupported
number of arguments (2); falling back to default session." is
displayed. When "ok" is pressed, the default Unity desktop is loaded
instead of Gnome Classic.

I've traced the source of the error message to
/etc/X11/Xsession.d/20x11-common_process-args, which checks for the
number of arguments in /etc/X11/Xsession.options and if there is more
than one option given (per line I think?), this error occurs.
However, there isn't more than one option per line in that file. In my
Xsession.options I have:

    allow-failsafe
    allow-user-resources
    allow-user-xsession
    use-ssh-agent
    use-session-dbus

The strangeness of this lies in this: It works for all users, except for
one of them. Previously I had this issue with another user, but because
I couldn't trace it, I deleted the profile and restored the user's files
but not the config and the problem didn't re-appear. However, I want to
solve this by finding the cause of it, since it's bound to happen with
another user in future.

If I log in as this user using NXclient, all is well. The error does
not occur. It only happens from a thin client logon and only for that
one user. So it seems that there is something in that client's LTSP
config that might be causing this, hence my question here.

What can I furthermore do to pinpoint this and resolve the problem?

thanks & regards

Roland
