I am updating my documentation to use LuaLaTeX instead of XeLaTeX,
especially _Formatting Information_ (some of you may have seen the
discussion on "Choice of processor" on tex-live recently).
All is well so far except for one item that eludes me: how do I
configure luaotfload-tool to include ~/texmf/fonts/opentype and
~/texmf/fonts/truetype in the index?
Many users will have personal collections of fonts in their
~/texmf/fonts tree, especially where they are commercial fonts or those
issued under a restricted license that are not to be made available to
other users.
So far as I can see, the only configuration option is scan-local, but
this defeats the saving of the index, which makes it unusable for
regular processing.
What have I missed?
