FWIW, my ISO's of Mandrake 9, CD's 1 and 2, didn't come with the kernel source so I couldn't compile the NVIDIA kernel. When I tried, I got all sorts of problems. I had to find a Mandrake 9 mirror and download the rpm then install. After that, it compiled just fine.
