What version of Open Office is FC2 running?
As Scott mentioned, OpenOffice in FC2 is rather "perky" because it is version 1.1.0. Yum update moves it to 1.1.1. At the present time, rawhide is the only option if you want to play with 1.1.2.

But again, version number is one thing, proper tunning (e.g., memory caching) is another. There is no free lunch. Linux is inherently better than Microsoft Windows, but to run it at an optimum performance level, the end users must learn to get into the habit of engaging the service of a good Linux professional.

For FC2, it is very important to do a post-installation yum update. A properly updated and supplemented FC2 is almost as perfect as an operation system goes. wayne
