I get what you're getting at here, Peter. It's hard to help someone that
doesn't provide you the necessary details to provide remote assistance.
That is understandable.

What I don't understand is your attitude. Saying that you'd be lucky to not
see an email from someone is just unkind. Also, we're not professionals
here. We're people. If someone wants to choose to use smileys, that's fine.

If someone you're helping doesn't provide you with necessary details, you
can be honest without being mean. Just say you need the information to help
and you will not be able to reply with anything constructive until they
provide it. And then just forget about it until that information is
provided.

Maybe put another way, if you don't have something nice to say, don't say
anything at all. ;)
