If you are in UG I think ypu know what am talking about.That explains why trueafrican.com and mtn.co.ug have styled up their sms service [Lowering the hits on their websites] I hear!.
What do I mean [people used to go to those sites to send smses but registering for such a service will take alot of time for a guy who has gone to a cafe with 1K]to do that.
Isn't there a better way to track the origin of de txt than those sites having mobile phone databases?Why doesn't the CID put cameras in cafes ;-))
Why don't cafes start a membership scheme where by all surfers aren't aliens and since most timing software record the time so and so was on the PC together with squid access logs.This will help the CID do their job to get the bad guys.ISP's can help up to providing the IP's but should we do detective/investigation besideswe too are fighting spammers,spoofers,black hats name it Wooow!
Though it has reduced sms/mobile phone crime rate hasn't it hindered both businesses(cafes and Websites).I know MTN and UTL (Telecoms) are happy because we[as in users(not me)] now use our[applies here too as above] airtime but remember a person can send a txt from a poorly installed mail server/Free mail servers just mailing -->[EMAIL PROTECTED] or [EMAIL PROTECTED] a txt is deliverd from an anoymous sender.Now what will the telecoms do ?block the address,site or service?
Help communication to fail communication what are your suggestions.Do you what to be the next culprit.Btw its not fiction ask Trueafrican and some ISP adminins plus Cafe owners who have talked to the "Men in shades" 8-( or |-( haahaha
