Hello all,
I have a DHCP server running which I use to assign both static and dynamic
addresses.
However, I want a to use the same server to completely deny assigning IP
addresses to certain MAC addresses . e.g if a host with MAC address is
00034e56f034 hooks up to the network, please DO NOT assign it an IP address
whatsoever.
I have tried two approaches:
1. Give the machine an IP address but expire it immediately, max-lease-time
0;. Surprisingly, the machine gets and MAINTAINS the IP address!! This didn't
work.
2. Don't assign an IP address to that MAC address. I haven't figured a way of
doing this. Someone help out there.
Approach 1 can work if I can find a way of stopping a machine from renewing
the lease. Any help on either approaches?
