Hi all

Been following this thread. We actually host the simba.fm site which in
anticipation of election traffic we transferred this site to a server
outside Uganda. However due to high traffic my hosts put the site offline
for a few hours on Friday and I got a phonecall from them, asking whether
that was genuine traffic. We eventually put the site back online but
restricted concurrent hits to 100 at any one time.

However stats show that the site got 377734 hits on the 23rd and 312614 hits
on the 24th. So I can only imagine what the newvision site got on the same
day.

This must explain the sites going offline. Since they are not hosted in
Uganda for obvious reasons of high expensive bandwidth. 80% of people who
access these sites are outside uganda.

regards
