True with the dlink in use but lets keep in mind of the "Dead spots" within close range. Some devices like a particular Linksys  throughput increases with distance. For instance   the  speeds at the pool are 8X faster than in the bedroom ie if you  devices understand SRX(Speed and perfomance eXpansion) and MIMO (Multiple In Multiple Out).It would help  if he gave us the Part No. for the dlink device in use.Otherwise in his case distance may be an issue if we take into consideration the devices in use.(DLINK)

If I'm not wrong your problem is most likely to be the distance. With
wireless the further the links the lower the throughput.

Try the same thing at 50 meters

Subject: [LUG] Link Encryption

Hi All

I recently set up a wireless point to point link with Dlink
equipment. I enabled 152 bit encrytpion in the process of
configuring the link.

Currently am facing a problem with the client whenever they
try to send 100Mb file sizes across the link. It takes for
ever. Would the encryption be an issue?

The link quality is 80% on average and the distance for the
wireless link is not more than 150 metres.

Any pointers will be appreciated.
