Hi Guys

The OSS Weekend starts tomorrow and ends on Sunday 28th May 2006. We shall
be having technical sessions for beginners on Friday and Saturday
afternoons and do expect to have the entire sunday dedicated to skills
sharing, Install fest (the public has been told to bring their PCs and
laptops for installation), career guidance and any form of Q&A related to
FOSS. We are looking for volunteers who dont mind sharing their knowledge
to come over and support this humble initiative to promote FOSS in Uganda.
It is a very good opportunity I believe for us to get our voice heard out
there and also demystify the "FOSS is not userfriendly" attitude out
there.

FYI on Friday morning we have a workshop geared towards the managers and
policy makers. You are invited to attend and its theme is "Cost effective
IT Solutions" while on Saturday morning (when most people are usually
blazed), we shall have a workshop for the Community Based organisations
focusing on how FOSS can be of use in their service delivery.

PS: Our very own Mr. Badru Ntege shall be making a presentation.

I look forward to a good turn out of LUG members this time round.

Regards

Wire James
