There are a lot of Caucasians in the US, besides Hispanics (who will outnumber the Caucasians in the near future) and Afro-Americans alright.
They are not all on dope, really. That is a bit of an exaggeration. The biggest reason why these bands top the box-office is that they don't target teens (who don't have money), but people in their thirties or higher. Those are people with a salary with which they can afford these high prices. (Barbara Streisand, number 2 in the female list charges 600 USD for a ticket. She appeals only to very rich very old people, thats why she can do that. Outside the US, bobody listens to her music) I just used money as the measuring factor, because it is googlable and absolute. I am very sure, Youssou N'Dour is bigger in Senegal than any of these bands will ever be. Same with Brenda Fassi (RIP), Fela Kuti and a whole bunch of Southern stars.
