I haven't watched the movie below, but intend to do so shortly.
As long as M$ is dominant on the OS side, no prizes for predicting which will be the dominant browser. What would be surprising though is to see Chrome overtaking Firefox (interesting as it sounds -- and those javascript speed tests... wow!) Firefox has momentum. Momentum matters a lot in software platforms/standards.

making a prediction is very hard. Firefox has a *lot* of extentions that
currently is their big advantage.

Why they have a role to play, i think, is very nicely anwsered in the stephen
fry movie that simon posted yesterday. It is a proper version of the
opensource pitch i gave at barcamp last friday and explains free software
very well.

if you run winblows and have no ogv support yet, you can get VLC from here:

Anybody want to predict which will be the dominant browsers five years
from now?

I think Firefox will be the loser. IE is backed by Microsoft, Safari
by Apple and Chrome by Google. Can Firefox compete?

Why is Firefox popular? Why does Firefox have a bigger share of the
browser users than Opera or other free downloadable browsers?

These are the questions Google will have to answer to compete with
Firefox and then to eventually take on IE and Safari.

Quoting joseph mpora <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>:
Read the first 10 or so pages of their (google chrome) comic.
Everything they say makes sense, but it could be a cleverly worded
advert.

Here we go again, yet-another-browser-war.

This should be interesting... :-).
