About seven years ago, I tried to free myself from the oppression and misery
of running Windows ME by installing Linux on my PC. Ever installed the Linux
operating system? It's not for the faint of heart. So, when it was recently
reported that Linux-based netbooks are being returned at a rate four-times
higher than their Windows-based brethren, I can't say I was surprised.

I have only used a Mac briefly, usually helping someone connect to our
network or the internet. I always wondered, isn't Desktop Linux in the same
league as the Mac (from a Windows Users perspective?). Apart from MS Office
(which you have to purchase separately) and Adobe products, you have to
learn new programs to do what you usually do in Windows (Mac users, please
correct me here).

So why would a new user adjust easier to a Mac than to Linux?
