But upon finding out that users who downloaded pirated versions of iWork and
Photoshop are now part of a botnet makes a lot of sense. No matter how
secure a OS you build, your downfall will be the practices of the end users.
With Linux there is less incentive to hunt down pirated software since
almost all the software is free.

This is not a knock against Apple or OSX, clearly the users are to blame.
But with the permissions and other security measures on UNIX like systems,
you would need the end user to install the software. You can't get away with
drive by infections.
