Are you ready to lose the Linux boot loader? Because I the only fix I can
think of it to repair the MBR.
That is what really sucks with the current version of windows and will make
it near impossible to dual-boot
with windows 8.

Using a windows 7 cd, reboot and go into repair and let it try to fix
itself. Let me know what happens then.
I think the command to run at the repair command prompt is still fixmbr. I
wish the windows guys allowed
their boot loader to see other operating systems so that if your bootloader
got corrupt then you could still
use the windows one to load Linux.
