Your question is an interesting one, and so not surprisingly it has
been discussed before. My contribution was dated 18th March 2000:
"Split courses (1)". I gave instances of Bakfark splitting courses,
and described how I think you should play them.

Generally speaking I don't think it's a good idea to recycle old
