Sort of off-topic. But in a way it's not, given our special perspective
(and needs) associated with a historical, quiet instrument and a refined
literature.

Acrimonious break-ups in popular music are common.
Lennon/McCartney/Harrison, Jagger/Richards, Simon/Garfunkel, Credence
Clearwater, Beach Boys. Often they are replete with lawsuits and barbed
personal jabs.

Is this a modern phenomenon? Is it a phenomenon at all? Is it special to
pop/rock music? What are its causes?
