Actually, our lamented friend Dawn Culbertson, who passed away far too young, used to do Iggy Pop songs and other such on the lute. It wasn't a schtick, she loved the music and she loved the lute. Well, she knew it had a funny side, clearly, but she was also deeply serious about it.
