Lovely idea, to make an arrangement like this. I will probably use it myself, since my daughter is also a flautist. Two points to note about the piece: (a) the title "Wascha mesa" is a corruption of "passamezzo" and nothing to do with washerwomen (what a pity! But I don't suppose washerwomen had much time for dancing), and (b) as it's a "ground bass", there's no limit to the amount of improvising which can be done by both players. As someone said, it's a sort of Renaissance 12-bar blues.

Best to all,

Martin

Do you have a low F on the seventh course? Or is it a 6c?

That was also my idea to Neil! I'd prefer pdf. And also a clearing to
the "who is accompanying", and who is solo, lute or flute". But
perhaps David will do the job? :-)

Greetings,

My 12 year old daughter has recently been looking at the various
Lute
pieces that I have got and has taken a liking to the above. She has
recently passed her grade 2 flute exam here in the UK and has asked
how
she could play this piece as an accompiant to the lute on her
flute.
How would this be transposed? Also what historical evidence is
there
for
Lute and Flute and whom were the main proponents/composers?

Best Regards

Neil
