You are right, and I will do so, but it is Sunday, and I don't think I could contact him. As it is decorative and plays no structural role, I thought perhaps it might be quite simple to do; but it must be reversible.
Meanwhile, I feel unable to play, which is rather a bother.
The string length is 70cm.

I imagine it only needs a small drop, as it has only moved in the last upper 3rd.
