There are scattered references to Bacchis and Niko, Niko being a temptress or even sorceress. The citation most on point is from the idylls of Theokritos--and the reason I think this may be the reference is that the Idylls tie in to the Arcadian affect. There is also the spell or "iunx" from which we get the word jinx, and this reference ties in to "spell" lute songs such lute songs as "Thrice toss these oaken ashes" by Campion. dt
