Well - yes.   Wire strung instruments are a law unto themselves.



   My rehearsals don't look anything like that.   Much more sedate.

   BTW, from the size, fretting, and style of head, I'd say it's more
   likely an unusually shaped cittern.  Looks like she's using a plectrum,
   too.  But, when you get wired, terminology gets confusing.



   I came THIS CLOSE to making an instrument based on that painting a long
   time ago.
